3 of the sons of David Shrader and Rhoda Nuckles (John, Henry Harrison, and David, Jr.) married three of the daughters of Samuel James Dillon, Jr. and Mary Rinehart (respectively Nancy, Sarah Arminta, and Chloe).

The 1850 Census[4] shows Samuel at age 54 with his wife and half-dozen children however in Mercer County, Virginia.

Samuel Dillion owned several hundred acres in Mercer County. He gave each of his children some land after each one married.

A deed shows that Howard Havens Davidson gets 450 acres in Mercer County, Virginia from his in-laws Samuel & Polly Dillon in 1856.[5] This was probably in advance of their coming move to Missouri.

The 1860 Census[vi] shows Samuel and Polly Dillion at ages 66 and 67 in Prairie Township, Montgomery County, Missouri.
